Set up a route for your train network in InfraWorks Mobility Simulation.
Type:
Tutorial
Length:
2 min.
Transcript
00:03
When creating a railway network in InfraWorks Mobility Simulation,
00:07
once you have added rail segments and stands, the next step is to add a new train route.
00:13
This creates the environment for the scheduled train service that will run along this railway in your multimodal simulation model.
00:21
Begin with an InfraWorks Mobility Simulation model open, with two railway segments connected and train stands placed.
00:29
The first step is to set up a trail, which is simply the route that your train will follow.
00:35
To do this, zoom in to the railway, and pick the left lane.
00:39
Then, from the Network menu, click Trails.
00:43
This opens the Trails dialog box.
00:47
To add a new route for your train service, click New, and in the New Trail dialog, click OK to accept the default name of Trail1.
00:56
In the model, Mobility Simulation has automatically detected the second section of attached rail.
01:03
In more complicated railway systems, The New Trail dialog that opens offers color-coded options,
01:10
such as left turns, right turns, or different ways of branching.
01:15
For this example, the only option is to go straight, so no options appear.
01:20
Click OK to close the dialog.
01:23
Back in the Trails dialog box, select Apply, then click OK.
01:29
With a new train route established in your InfraWorks Mobility Simulation model,
01:33
you are now ready to create a scheduled train service for the railway to use in a multimodal simulation.
