The sweep command adds or subtracts volume by sweeping
00:09
a sketch profile or planar face along a path
00:12
with sweep,
00:13
you can create new solid bodies or quickly add
00:16
volume to or remove volume from existing solid bodies.
00:21
Let's use the sweep command to create the wiring for a pressure transducer
00:26
on the toolbar on the solid tab, expand the drop down menu, create and click sweep
00:32
the sweep dialogue displays and the profile selector is active.
00:36
So you can immediately select the profile to sweep.
00:39
First, we select the three profiles for the wires,
00:44
click the path selector and select a sketch profile or edge as the path
00:49
the feature preview displays in the canvas
00:51
and the dialogue includes additional options,
00:53
set the sweep options to fit your needs.
00:57
You can drag the manipulator handle to set the distance along the path
01:01
to sweep the profile or you can specify an explicit distance value.
01:08
You can add taper to the swept feature,
01:11
use positive or negative values to control the taper angle.
01:15
You can use twist to revolve the profile around the axis along the path.
01:22
You use orientation to control the profile in relation to the path
01:28
you use operation to add subtract or intersect features
01:32
or you can create new bodies or new components.
01:36
Click OK.
01:37
New bodies display in the canvas and are added to the body's folder in the browser.
01:43
Now you know how to use the basic features in the
01:45
sweep command to create sweep features in your own designs.
