Create and edit view frames

Create and edit view frames in a drawing sheet.

Now that we have created our plan and profile sheet master,

we are ready to create our drawing sheets.

We're going to create drawing sheets along mcallister boulevard

from the output ribbon tab plan production panel,

click on crate view frames

in the crate view frames, dialogue set the alignment to mcallister boulevard.

We will accept the default station range.

on the sheets page, we can choose to generate plan and profile sheets,

plan only sheets

or profile only sheets,

select plan and profile.

Now browse for the template to use

for the plan and profile sheet

from your project templates folder,

select Iowa city plan profile section

Then in the select layout, dialogue,

pick the D plan and profile 40 scale sheet

and click. OK.

For the view frame placement,

we can rotate the sheets along the alignment or keep the sheets rotated to north,

choose a long alignment

and set the first view frame before the start of the alignment

by 210 ft.

in the view frame group page set the view frame group name

to general arrangement.

We will accept the default values for the view frame name

we will snap the station value

to the nearest 10 ft

for allow additional distance for repositioning

This will place sheet match lines located to the nearest 10 ft station value.

And with the minimum overlap between sheets of 200 ft,

we will accept the default stars and naval stars

but ensure the left and right label location are both set to middle.

to major grids and H GP times two vertical

set, the band set style to road bands and pipes

The view frames have now been placed in the drawing

and match lines have been added with their labels.

The view frames can be adjusted before the sheets are generated.

When you select a view frame, you can use the diamond grip

to slide the view frame along the alignment.

You can use the circle grip to rotate the view frame

and you can use the square grip to move the view frame to any location,
