Tutorial
Length:
2 min.
Transcript
00:04
In ReCap Pro, you can set a user coordinate system (UCS) that works with the world coordinate system (WCS) for the project.
00:15
The UCS is a moveable coordinate system that establishes the XY work plane,
00:22
horizontal and vertical directions, axes of rotation, and other useful geometric references.
00:29
Setting a UCS can help you by setting an orientation that you are familiar with when working with your scans.
00:36
To set a UCS, from the Contextual tile menu, switch to the RealView.
00:43
On the Compass widget, click the Top face.
00:48
Rotate the scan to the desired orientation in the full plan view.
00:53
Then, hover your mouse over the Compass widget and click the plus (+) icon.
00:59
This aligns the user current coordinate system that you just specified to the world coordinate system.
01:06
Expand the mini-map to full-screen mode.
01:11
From the Contextual tile menu, switch to the 3D View.
01:16
On the ViewCube, click the Home icon to orient the model to the UCS,
01:22
while maintaining the world coordinate system.
01:25
You have full navigation capabilities with the ViewCube.
01:30
To reset the orientation back to the world coordinate system, switch to the RealView.
01:36
In the overhead map view, hover your mouse over the Compass widget,
01:41
and then click the Reset icon.
01:43
This change is reflected in the Compass widget and in the 3D View.
