Extract different linear feature types from a point cloud.
Transcript
00:03
In ReCap Pro, Linear Feature Extraction allows you to extract linear features,
00:09
such as curbs and gutters, from a point cloud dataset.
00:13
Published ReCap point cloud projects have access to extraction tools in the Autodesk Construction Cloud viewer.
00:20
From a web browser, navigate to a ReCap project that has already been published to the cloud
00:25
with a feature shape already defined.
00:28
With the Cross Section View open, select Start Auto Extraction.
00:33
The linear feature extraction begins to generate by leveraging the Alignment Algorithm Threshold and Step Interval settings.
00:41
As the extraction generates, you can pan the view.
00:45
The extraction continues creating iterative cross sections following the point cloud data until you click Stop Auto Extraction,
00:53
or until the Alignment Algorithm Threshold is not met.
00:57
In this example, the extraction will intersect a sidewalk curb ramp.
01:02
Before this occurs, click Stop Auto Extraction.
01:05
Then, click Done.
01:08
In the Project Browser, notice that the extracted linear features display.
01:12
Start a new extraction to continue beyond the sidewalk curb ramp or any other feature you wish to exclude.
01:20
Starting a new extraction requires you to define the shape of the linear extraction,
01:24
arrange the feature points, and tag them.
01:28
You can also pull linear features from other types of features in a project.
01:32
In this instance, the curb ends and a barrier wall begins.
01:36
To extract the barrier wall linework, end the current extraction and begin a new one.
01:42
In the Cross Section View, notice that the barrier wall cross-section displays.
01:47
Arrange the feature points accordingly.
01:50
Once you are finished extracting, click Done.
01:55
ReCap Pro’s flexible linear extraction tool with easy-to-arrange feature points lets you quickly extract data from your point clouds.
