And in here,
00:04
we can see the parapet roof that will be placing the Facia and gutter around.
00:11
We need to create a new Facia type. But before we do that,
00:14
we'll load in a profile family to use that in the Facia type.
00:19
So to do this first, we'll go to the insert ribbon tab
00:23
and from the load from library panel
00:25
or choose the load autodesk family button.
00:29
This will open up a cloud based content browser of al
00:32
desk families
00:35
and we just need to check the locale settings first to
00:38
ensure that the region is set to the United States Imperial.
00:42
Now that's done, we'll go to the browse folders on the left hand side here
00:47
and we'll scroll down and choose the profiles folder
00:50
and then from the sub folders, we'll choose the roofs folder
00:55
and now from the results for profile roofs,
00:58
we'll choose the face, your built up profile
01:02
and then click load for this to be downloaded
01:04
into our project.
01:08
Now we're ready to create the new FAA.
01:10
So from the architecture ribbon tab on the build panel,
01:14
we'll click on the fly out under the roof tools and we'll choose the roof facia tool,
01:20
looking at the type selector,
01:22
we can see we have the facial flat one by 12 type selected
01:26
and we'll click edit type
01:28
to access its type properties.
01:30
And then at the top here, we'll click duplicate to make the new Faure
01:33
type.
01:34
We'll name this Facia built up one by 10
01:39
and then click OK to create that new Faure
01:41
type,
01:43
looking at type parameters in the construction panel.
01:46
Here we have a parameter for profile.
01:48
So we'll select this. And now from the drop down list,
01:51
we might need to scroll up a little, we'll choose the fa
01:54
built up one by 10 with one by six.
01:59
And now we'll assign a material. So just beneath this,
02:02
you can see we have the material parameter
02:04
and we'll click on the by category material here
02:07
and then from the button that appears,
02:08
we'll click on this to open up the material browser.
02:13
And now we use the search box at the top to search for white materials.
02:19
And now from the list of results, we'll choose the PV C clad white material
02:24
and I would click OK
02:26
to assign that onto our new Faure
02:27
type.
02:29
And now that's done, we can click OK again to save the new feature
02:32
type that we've just created.
02:36
So now we're still in the place
02:38
tool. So
02:39
we're ready to add this on to the roof.
02:42
So we zoom in a little here and we just need to select the
02:45
edge of the roof here. So
02:47
at the bottom of the slope, at the top of the vertical Faure
02:50
here, we'll click on
02:52
and then the facial will be placed along that edge
02:55
zooming in here.
02:56
We can see the profile and we can see it just sticking beneath the roof as we want it.
03:02
So now we'll click the rest of the edges around the roof. So
03:05
we click this one here and we can see that creates a nice mighty joint in the corner.
03:10
And now we can just continue on
03:12
using the orbit tools orbiting around the model and clicking on the edges.
03:17
So we've got them all selected.
03:19
And now we can see that
03:21
feature is applied
03:22
to all of the edges of the roof
03:25
as we require it.
03:28
So now we're ready to add the gutter on.
03:31
So to do this, we'll go to the architecture ribbon tab and from the build panel
03:35
under the roof tools again,
03:37
we choose to fly out and then we can select the roof gutter tool.
03:41
So looking at the type selector,
03:43
we can see we have this gutter bevel five by five type,
03:47
we'll click edit type to open its type properties
03:50
and then we'll click duplicate to create a new one
03:53
and we'll call this one gutter cove five by five.
03:58
And then we'll click OK to save this new gutter type.
04:01
And now looking at the type parameters here,
04:03
we can see we have the profile So we'll click here
04:06
and then from the drop down list, we'll choose the
04:08
gutter profile cove five by five type.
04:15
And then we also need to assign a material.
04:18
So we'll click on the by category here and open
04:21
up the material browser with a button that appears.
04:24
And then in the search box at the top here, we'll type in metal.
04:29
Now, from the list of results, we'll choose the copper material
04:34
I think coming across to the graphics tab here, we'll check the box to
04:38
use render appearance in the shading panel.
04:41
We can see that changes the color to be more
04:43
like a copper color now instead of the black.
04:46
So we'll click OK to assign that onto our gutter
04:49
then OK, once more to save that new gutter type.
