So now from the project browser, we'll open up section B
00:08
and this is going long ways through the building.
00:10
And again, as we move over here, we can see we have the room so I can select the lounge,
00:15
the hallway and the kitchen are here too.
00:18
So we'll add tags to these rooms so that we can see the information about them.
00:22
And to do this from the architecture ribbon tab on the room and area panel,
00:26
we'll click the tag room tool.
00:29
We can see we have the room tag with volume selected.
00:32
So we just need to go around and we can click on
00:35
each of these rooms here so we can grab the lounge,
00:38
the hallway and the kitchen.
00:40
And then we'll also add in the rooms on the second floor here. So
00:44
the bedroom, the landing and the other bedroom.
00:47
And now that we've got those placed,
00:49
we'll also assign in a color scheme to make it easier to identify the rooms.
00:54
So to do this, we'll go to the annotate ribbon tab
00:58
and from the color fill panel or click the colorful legend tool.
01:04
Now, we can see we have the legend attached to our cursor. So
01:07
I'll click to place this by the side of the view here.
01:11
And now we need to change the space type from spaces to big rooms.
01:15
And then the scheme is set to be by name. So we'll click. Ok.
01:19
And then we can see straight away that we have colors assigned to each of those rooms.
01:23
And the legend has also been updated to match.
01:27
And actually with this color scheme applied,
01:28
it becomes obvious that we need to adjust the heights of these rooms
01:32
via the limit offset parameter to fill the volumes of the room.
01:36
So I first select the kitchen
01:38
and then holding down the control key, I'll select the hallway too
01:42
and we can see that the second floor level is at 12 ft.
01:45
So in the properties palette here, we'll change the limit offset to be 12 ft or so.
01:50
When we apply that we can see those rooms filling
01:52
the space to the under side of the second floor.
01:56
Now, with the lounge, we can see it actually goes full height up to the roof. So
01:60
using the height controls here will drag this up to the underside of the roof.
02:06
And once we've set this,
02:07
we can now see that as it goes past the second floor on the upper level here,
02:11
it's inset slightly
02:14
and this is because the second floor is room bounding
02:17
and that's therefore controlling the shape of the room from a vertical standpoint
02:22
we can also see now that we have the volumes updated on the tags of these rooms
02:26
with the one in the lounge taking account for the double height space that we have.
02:31
And that completes placing the rooms and calculating the volume for this model.
