00:03
And we're looking at the floor four zone in area plan here
00:07
and areas have been placed into this view.
00:09
And also in the area plans for floors 12 and three,
00:15
the areas have all been named according to the function of that zone of the building.
00:19
So looking a little closer here, we have an area for office space,
00:23
circulation and core.
00:28
We also have another office space in the tower here
00:31
and an atrium at the end of the building.
00:36
So we'll go ahead and make the area schedule.
00:39
So from the view ribbon tab on the create panel,
00:42
we'll click the schedules drop down
00:45
and then we'll click on the schedules and quantities.
00:49
So we'll search the categories for areas
00:53
from the list of filtered results here.
00:55
We can see we have some different area schemes.
00:57
So we'll slightly areas, a zoning scheme here
01:00
and then we'll click ok to go to the schedule properties
01:05
from the list of available fields. We'll first choose the name field
01:11
and then we'll click the button in the middle
01:13
here to add that into the scheduled fields.
01:16
And then we'll do the same with the level.
01:18
And then finally with the area field.
01:22
So now we have the fields added,
01:24
I'll swap to the sorting and group in tab.
01:27
And first we'll sort by name
01:31
and then
01:31
we'll sort by level
01:35
and then to group them by the name,
01:36
we'll check to add the header and footer under the name field.
01:42
Now, a bit further down,
01:43
we'll also check to display the grand totals so that we can see the total areas.
01:50
So we'll go to the format in tab now
01:52
and we'll select the area filled.
01:55
Look on the right hand side, we can see it's set to no calculations.
01:58
So we'll select this and choose calculate totals to have the total area calculated.
02:04
So now we'll click ok to create that schedule.
02:08
And we can see now that we've got the
02:10
areas here and they're grouped according to their name.
02:12
So, hm circulation core and office space
02:15
and then they're ordered according to the level holder.
02:19
And then we can see the total area for each type
02:22
and then at the bottom we have the grand total. So 22 areas in total
02:26
and about 69,500 square feet.
02:31
Looking at the area column,
02:32
we can see it's there to two decimal places and we'll make
02:35
a change to this to the round to the nearest square foot.
02:38
So from the properties palette
02:40
on the other panel here, we'll click the edit button next to formatting
02:45
and then was slightly area filled
02:48
and on the right here, we'll click to edit the field format
02:52
and we can see it's currently set to use project settings. So we'll uncheck this
02:57
and then we change the rounding to be zero decimal places.
03:02
And then we'll change the unit symbol from none to sf to indicate square feet.
03:07
And then we can click, OK.
03:09
And then, ok, once more
03:11
to apply those changes, and we can see now that that column has changed.
03:14
So it's rounded to the nearest square foot.
03:16
And we also have the sf to indicate square feet.
03:21
So that finishes creating the schedule
03:24
and I'll swap back to the floor for area plan view
03:28
and we'll apply a color scheme to this view
03:30
to color the areas according to their name.
03:33
So it will go to the annotate ribbon tab
03:35
and from the color fill panel,
03:37
we'll click to add a color fill legend.
03:41
Now, we can see we have the legend attached to our cursor here. So
03:44
I'll just place it in the view
03:47
and then from the space time and color scheme, we can see we have the area zone in
03:51
and schema one is the only one available. So we'll click. Ok.
03:55
And we can see now that those areas have been colored,
03:58
but they all have the same color.
03:59
And this is based on the area type.
04:02
We need to create a new scheme.
04:04
So I'll select the legend here and then from the
04:07
colorful legend ribbon tab here or click edit scheme.
04:12
And now from the schemes panel, we'll click duplicate to create a new color scheme
04:17
and we name this area name
04:21
and then click OK to create that new scheme.
04:25
So from the definition panel, we'll change the title to be by name
04:32
and then we'll change the color
04:34
to be set by the name parameter.
04:38
We'll have a warning letting us know that the colors are not preserved. So,
04:41
so we'll click. OK? I did a new scheme
04:44
now, we can see the names and the colors associated to those
04:48
and the colors look a little bit light.
04:50
So I'll click on the color here next to the office space
04:54
and then
04:54
we'll select a new color for this.
04:56
So I'll just click the light blue color here and click. OK?
05:00
And then I'll put the color next to the atrium too.
05:05
And again, we'll pick a new color. So let's select the pink color just here
05:10
and then we'll click. OK?
05:12
And then we'll click, OK? Again to save and apply the new color scheme to the view.
05:16
And we can see now that we have the areas colored according to their name.
05:20
And also the legend has been updated.
05:22
We'll apply this to another view. So let's open the floor two zoning area plan
05:28
and then we'll go to the annotate ribbon tab
05:31
and from the color field panel, we'll click to add the color field legend.
05:35
We'll place the legend in the view
05:37
and we can see the space type is zone in
05:39
and the color scheme is area name, which is the one that we've created.
05:43
So when we click, OK,
05:44
we can see those same colors get applied to the areas according to their name.
05:50
And that now finishes scheduling in our areas and applying those color schemes.

03:37
we'll click to add a color fill legend.

04:21
and then click OK to create that new scheme.

to be set by the name parameter.
04:38

04:44
now, we can see the names and the colors associated to those
04:48

04:50

04:54

we'll select a new color for this.
