Start an analysis for an energy analytical model

Upload your building model for analysis in Insight.

Once you have created an energy analytical model and have examined the views to make sure the model is well-defined

and accurately reflects the design intent,

you can upload your building model for analysis in Insight.

To create an analytical model based on the current building model,

from the ribbon, Analyze tab, Carbon Insight panel, select Analyze.

A warning dialog might appear indicating that you have not saved your project recently.

If you are not already logged into Revit, you are directed to the Autodesk login page on your web browser.

Once you are logged in, return to the software.

If the analytical model is out of date with the building model,

a dialog box appears, providing you with the option to choose to update the analytical model or use the existing one.

In this example, Update Energy Analytical Model is selected.

A success dialog displays.

Click OK.

The Carbon Insights dialog displays, detailing the workflow for running a carbon analysis.

Click Continue.

The Generate Carbon Insights dialog opens, indicating that a base run analysis is generating in the cloud.

To view the status, click View Analysis.

The web browser opens to the Autodesk Insight page,

where you can monitor the progress of the analysis.

This is also where you can view your energy analysis results once it is complete.

The Insight dashboard contains a summary of the energy analysis run on your model.

It contains basic model information such as the location, building type, and area,

and the embodied and operational carbon totals.
