00:03
In Revit, the creation of steel connections can be automated based on their geometrical condition,
00:09
structural behavior, and more with the Connection Automation tool.
00:14
This can speed up the design process, especially for larger models.
00:18
To begin, navigate to the desired RVT file, and then open it.
00:24
With the project open in Revit, from the Steel ribbon, Connection panel, click Connection Automation.
00:31
In the Steel Connection Automation dialog that opens, a list of predefined connections appears.
00:38
Select the connection type and modeling condition you wish to automate.
00:42
In this example, Clip angle – beam to beam is selected.
00:47
In the next step, you need to provide some inputs, such as elements to apply the connection to.
00:53
Click the Select button to select model objects with your cursor.
00:58
Then, expand the Connection type to add in model drop-down.
01:03
In this case, select Clip Angle | Clip Angle from the list.
01:07
Click Run to execute the connection automation.
01:11
Objects and/or elements selected in the previous step now have clip angle connections on their ends.
01:19
Circle icons indicate junctions that received connections through the automation process.
