So now I'll select the sweep
00:06
and looking at its properties.
00:08
You can see we have an offset from wall
00:10
and we use this to adjust its position relative to the wall.
00:13
So I'll change this to be just one inch.
00:17
And then beneath that, we have the level and offset from level.
00:21
And I happen to know that there's a parapet level in this model. So
00:24
we'll change it from site.
00:26
So let's select site
00:28
and then from the list of levels, we'll scroll down and choose the power pit level.
00:34
Once we're there, we don't need it to be offset. So we'll change that to zero
00:39
so that the sweep then sits at the power pit level
00:42
and then should that level change at all in the project,
00:45
our sweep will change with it.
00:49
So that finishes creating the coping for the top of the wall.
00:53
And now we need to add a baseboard into the reception area on floor two.
00:58
So to do this, we'll open up the floor plan, floor two
01:09
and the reception area that we need to work on
01:11
is the one here in the middle of the plan number 227.
01:15
Now the sweep tool won't work in a plan view.
01:18
So we need to create a 3d view
01:20
and to do this, we need to select the room. So
01:23
hovering just near the room tag,
01:25
we can see the room highlighted and then we'll click to select that.
01:29
And then from the modified rooms ribbon tab
01:32
on the view panel, we'll choose the selection box tool
01:36
and this will then take us to a 3d view
01:38
and the section box will be set around the boundary of the room.
01:44
Now, we just need to adjust it so we can see in.
01:47
So I'll select the section box
01:49
and using the controls on the top,
01:51
we just drag these down so we can see into the reception.
01:56
And whilst we're here, we use the controls on the front to drag this forward a bit.
02:00
So we can see a bit more of the context around the reception.
02:05
So now we have that section box created,
02:07
we can see the area of the reception that we need to add the post board into.
02:13
So to do this,
02:14
we'll use the sweep tool again. So from the architecture ribbon tab
02:18
on the build panel under the wall tool, we'll choose wall sweep
02:24
and then from the type selector, we can choose the baseball type
02:29
and now we can click some of the walls in
02:31
the reception area to start placing the base board.
02:34
So we'll choose this one and
02:36
the two side walls
02:38
and then we'll click on, modify to stop it just there.
02:42
And we can see the sweep that's been created,
02:44
we can see it stopping either side of the doors
02:47
and on the side walls,
02:48
we can see that it's actually extending through into the offices.
02:52
This is because the wall that makes the edge of the reception also continues
02:58
through to the office as well.
03:00
So to fix this, we need to select the sweep
03:04
and we can see that it has quite a number of drag control points at the end of the sweeps
03:09
and looking at the wall going through the office here,
03:12
we can see that we have a drag control point.
03:14
So let's drag that back and snap it to the corner of the reception wall.
03:19
And then if we do that to the opposite side of the reception,
03:22
we can see that we have our base board just in
03:24
the reception area and not going through to the offices.
03:29
And if we zoom in here, we can see we have a nice mighty joint in that corner too.
03:34
So now we need to set the height of the base board.
03:37
And if I select it,
03:39
looking at its instance properties, we can see that it's associated to level two,
03:44
which is correct.
03:45
So to get the correct location, we'll use the align tool this time.
03:49
So from the modify ribbon
03:51
on the modify panel, we'll click a line
03:54
and then we'll select the top of the floor slab for the reference
03:59
and then we'll get the underside of the baseboard so
04:02
that it aligns onto the top of that floor slab.
04:08
It's now zooming into one of the doors here.
04:11
We can see that the baseboard actually projects through the trim on the door
04:16
and that's not really how we want it.
04:18
We, we'd rather it stopped at the back edge of the trim
04:21
and I know that trim is actually three inches wide. So
04:24
we'll select the sweep again
04:27
and then we'll click edit type from the
04:28
properties pallette to access its type properties.
04:31
And then here we have the parameter, default set back.
04:34
So we'll set this to be three inches
04:38
and we'll click, OK to save those changes.
04:42
And the outer suite will be three inches back from the edge of the door
04:45
which will line up with the back edge of the trim.
04:48
So now we just need to add in the remaining walls to this sweep.
04:52
So whilst it's still selected on the modify wall sweeps, ribbon tab will choose add,
04:57
remove walls.
04:60
And now we can just click on the walls
05:01
around the reception area that don't have the baseboard
05:05
and it will be added to those walls with the
05:07
same settings of the suite that we've already created.
05:10
So then we'll choose, modify
05:11
and then that will finish creating the baseboard around our reception area.
