In the Civil 3D Project Explorer, you can view and edit pipe network layouts with a simplified option for pipe design.

Any changes you make to parameter values are immediate and can be seen in Civil 3D directly.

From the Home tab, in the Explore panel, click Project Explorer.

In the Project Explorer, switch to the Pipe Networks tab.

In the Pipe Network Name table, for this example, click the Network 1 row.

This allows you to view the Structures, Pipes, and Pipe Run tabs in the Layout area for this network.

To view the entire pipe run in a profile like view,

change the first structure dropdown to Structure - (5)

and the second dropdown to Structure - (3)

and choose a comparison surface to VO-SM.

To make an edit to a portion of our pipe run, change the pipe run to Structure - (5)

and the second dropdown to Structure - (1) and select Edit Pipe Run.

Change the pipe slope to 4% and the drop across the structure to –0.2’.

Select OK to accept the results, close Project Explorer and inspect one of the pipes for the changes you made.

Re-launch Project Explorer.

In the Layout area, any text highlighted in purple can be edited by double-clicking it.

To make edits to multiple structures, pipes, or pipe runs, press and hold the SHIFT key while clicking items to highlight them.
