Aggregating the project model
Create a package for sharing - Exercise
Note: Prior to beginning practice exercise, a demo account and project or a sandbox project within a corporate account will need setup, teams created, and users added (account admin actions).
Create a new package for sharing
Go to Document Management.
- Go to your Team Folder.
- Select Sets Tab > Manage Sets > Create new Set. This will be used later.
- View your model. Explore the 2D and 3D Tabs (your Revit Publish Sets). Have all Sheets and Views needed been included?
- Create a Documents Folder within your Team Space and upload a sample file.
Next, go to your Design Collaboration Team Space. - Create a new package.
- Add Sets. Keep in mind these sets are based on all Publish Sets from all Revit model in the Team Space.
- Add Models. We can choose models only for a Package. Selecting a Set automatically includes the Model from which it was derived.
- Add Documents (additional package non-BIM support documentation, i.e. specifications).
- Name the Package appropriately. This is what other disciplines will see when they choose to Explore and Consume.
- Will this package be part of a milestone deliverable Document Set? If yes, select a Document set to add package contents.
- Package Description – what do we need to communicate about the Package?
- Once we click Share, the package is available to other project teams.
