So in this session, we're going to look
00:03
at analyzing your Air Force model using
00:06
a different mix of themes and styles
00:09
and analyzation tools in bricks.
00:13
There's several different ways to analyze your data.
00:17
Initially you can analyze the JSF data
00:19
that you brought in by using a feature theme analysis.
00:23
You can analyze your terrain via slope elevation
00:27
different ranges.
00:28
You can analyze a distance in a slope log certain measurements,
00:32
and you can also use suitability maps for best placement
00:36
of corridors.
00:38
And another one that's used quite often
00:40
is a watershed analysis, you can analyze a watershed picking
00:44
maybe your low spire your high spot at your site
00:47
and see what is actually draining to that area.
00:51
So let's open up and is take a look
00:53
at several of these different analysis tools.
00:58
So we're here inside out.
00:59
And for worst model we've brought our GSA data
01:02
all sorts of data in here.
01:03
Now we want to analyze that.
01:05
So I first want to choose the enforce force icon here
01:07
in the top left to the far right.
01:10
You will see analyze your model.
01:13
And I'm just going to work my way top to bottom.
01:15
We'll do a few different analysis.
01:17
First one I'm going to do is terrain themes
01:20
such as select terrain themes.
01:23
It gives us a new palette here.
01:25
I'm going to add a new theme and here we want to give it a name.
01:29
So I'm was going to call it slope
01:32
you want to give it an analysis type with elevation aspect
01:35
and slope to slope we can give it a minimum value
01:40
add a maximum value to leave the default
01:43
and we can give it a number of rules might change that.
01:46
So have more.
01:46
I mean go 12 move a slider bar for transparency.
01:52
We can choose to be a little bit transparent in our analysis
01:54
so we can see what's underneath it.
01:56
So I'm going to put it here.
01:60
And then we had different palette types, different color
02:03
ramps and palettes.
02:05
I'm going to leave it default and then simply select OK.
02:10
So you can see how quick that was to run a slope
02:13
analysis on that site.
02:14
Pretty big site and you can see here
02:16
on the right side, the different quadrants of that,
02:21
you can see our slope here at any time,
02:24
you can run additional analysis or you
02:26
can edit this analysis so much.
02:29
Turn that one off feature themes is another option here.
02:37
I mean go ahead and choose feature themes
02:40
and we brought our soils in here be a shape file.
02:42
I'm going to go to a new theme I'm
02:46
a name it soil's feature class.
02:52
It's going to read the information we have brought in.
02:54
I've got the soil survey what property.
02:58
So what attribute of that soil.
03:00
Do I want to analyze I'm going to choose soil type.
03:09
And then I'm going to do a distribution.
03:11
Individual values.
03:12
So it doesn't matter how many soil types are in there,
03:15
it's going to say, you know each one has its own color
03:19
and do the same thing here.
03:20
Transparency user define it and we'll do red to blue.
03:24
I'm a hit OK.
03:27
She can see there that it classified and separated.
03:30
Each individual soil type.
03:32
And I'll have a bc and D So I can look and see
03:36
where's my the most suitable soils for development,
03:40
where maybe there is not as many options
03:43
here when it comes to soil type a looks like most
03:46
of our development here is in soil
03:48
type c might turn that one off.
03:56
Suitability map.
03:57
I'm going to select suitability map.
03:59
And we're going to see the defaults here.
04:00
And basically what this is going to do.
04:03
It's going to give me what they feel
04:05
is a most suitable or non suitable
04:07
location for a corridor, I believe
04:09
default someone hit apply and you can see here
04:19
where it shows these different areas the cost gradient
04:24
you can see here on my suitability map panel.
04:27
We've got a high cost and red low cost in blue
04:30
that takes a lot of different factors
04:31
into effect, although shape files all the data that we
04:34
have in that model.
04:36
It says it's relatively low cost in the blue areas.
04:40
So a quick analysis there.
04:46
You've got a southern sky.
04:47
You've got point to point.
04:48
So you just measure a couple of points.
04:50
This one here to the distance and slope.
04:53
I'm going to select that I'm just
04:55
going to pick a point on our site
04:57
and just drag it and see the slope at any point.
05:00
So I can see where my slope is going.
05:04
So it looks like I'm going downhill at roughly half
05:06
a percent across that site, which works out really
05:09
well when you're trying to develop kind of
05:11
know that low spot and an average slope is flat.
05:14
Is it too steep quick way to look at that.
05:21
Another option we discussed was a watershed analysis
05:23
is a very powerful tool that will show you
05:26
exactly what is draining to a spot we define
05:29
and what we select some of the collapse
05:34
that I go to the drainage module.
05:38
And here we've got the same.
05:40
We've got terrain themes create watersheds several other
05:43
options there are just simply select create watersheds
05:48
and to pick an outlet point.
05:50
So this will be my low spot.
05:51
So I'm going to choose just going to choose down here
05:55
towards the end of my development.
05:56
Now let's go to the middle.
05:59
So what's going to drain their analysis.
06:02
Press enter to start the analysis going
06:09
to give it a moment.
06:11
It does run the analysis in a cloud.
06:12
You do have to be connected to the internet.
06:14
But it's going to analyze that surface quickly.
06:17
And it's going to give me an area that
06:19
is then draining to my sites.
06:22
You can see this area that has highlighted
06:25
has the ability to drain to that spot.
06:28
I selected.
06:29
So floodplain analysis watershed analysis very simple,
06:33
easy to use analysis tools within InfraWorks
06:36
based on a lot of information that we brought in.
06:39
So we now have defined parameters for our site.
06:42
We see that our site is very suitable for development.
06:45
And we can make a more informed decision
06:46
on when to move forward.
