The records displayed in a list view can be sorted and grouped.
00:14
First, let's talk about sorting.
00:17
Records can be sorted by one or more fields in ascending or descending order.
00:22
The header of the field used for sorting will be highlighted in blue,
00:26
displaying an arrow to identify if the sorting is ascending or descending.
00:32
On the tasks page,
00:33
tasks are being sorted by pipeline step in ascending
00:36
order from the first step in the pipeline to the last.
00:40
To sort records,
00:41
you can either select a header to sort records by that column's fields
00:46
or select a field from the sort menu.
00:52
Sorting by more than one field is also possible.
00:55
To sort by multiple criteria, select sort and go to advanced sorting.
01:02
This menu allows users to choose up to three different fields to sort by.
01:07
Each field can be sorted in either ascending or descending order.
01:14
The headers of all fields being used to sort will now display in blue.
01:22
An example of advanced sorting can be seen on the
01:25
shots page where shots are sorted first by sequence,
01:29
then by shot code.
01:32
Next, let's talk about grouping.
01:36
Records can be grouped by one or more fields in ascending or descending order.
01:41
On the tasks page,
01:42
tasks have been grouped by their link, which in this case is the shot code.
01:49
All the tasks from the same shots are grouped together.
01:53
To group records,
01:54
you can either right-click a header and
01:56
select group to group records by that columns field,
02:00
or select a field from the group menu.
02:06
Just like with sorting, grouping by more than one field is also possible.
02:11
To sort by multiple criteria, select group and go to advanced grouping.
02:17
By default, records can be grouped by a single field.
02:21
Additional fields can be added and removed by selecting the plus and minus buttons.
02:26
Let's group tasks by status, then by pipeline.
02:31
If I want to change the order, groups can be reordered
02:34
by dragging the lines to the left of the field.
02:38
Let's change the order to group first by pipeline step, then by status.
02:43
Once you hit update, the new grouping will be applied to the page.
02:47
Now we can see all of the tasks with the same pipeline step grouped together
02:52
and easily see how many tasks are not completed based on the groups.
02:57
Groups can be expanded and collapsed as needed by
02:60
selecting the arrows to the left of the group.
03:03
To quickly expand and collapse all groups at once,
03:06
hold alt and left-click over the arrows to the left of the group.
