Within the Push to List activity,
00:05
you can use a Max Wait Time to control the duration of time that values remain on your List
00:11
and what happens to them once they are released from the List.
00:14
Use Max Wait Timer sets a maximum duration for a token to wait on the List before being released.
00:21
Keep On List On Early Release ensures that a token remains on the List even if the wait timer has fired.
00:28
Here, you see some information about the Max Wait Timer function, as well as a process flow to illustrate these functions.
00:37
Click Push to List.
00:39
In Quick Properties, select Use Max Wait Timer,
00:44
then set the maximum Time the value should remain on the List before it is released—here, 10 seconds.
00:52
Or, expand the Time drop-down to choose from alternate options.
00:58
On Wait Timer Fired is currently set to do two things—set a label and release the token.
01:06
To view these settings, click Edit Properties.
01:12
Expand Set Label to see that the label is currently set to “failed”, with a Value of 1.
01:20
Next, expand Release token, where the release Destination is set to 2.
01:28
This means that when a value is on the list for more than 10 seconds, it is not pulled from the list and sent to Connector 1 on the Pulled path.
01:36
Instead, the token is assigned a failed label and sent to Connector 2 on the Failed path.
01:44
Open On Wait Timer Fired again and click Add.
01:50
Here, you can select other actions to take place when the Wait Timer fires.
01:56
Next, select Keep On List On Early Release.
02:02
This option allows you to keep values on the list even if the Wait Timer is fired.
02:08
For this example, deselect this option.
02:13
In List Quick Properties, open View Entries.
02:20
When the simulation is Run at an accelerated speed, you can see that several tokens proceed to the Failed path,
02:28
because they were on the list for more than 10 seconds without being pulled.
02:33
Click these tokens, and, in Properties, you see the failed label with a value of 1 on each.
02:42
The simulation is continued until tokens proceed to the pulled path.
02:48
Click one of the pulled tokens to see that the token label corresponds to the puller token, since it was pulled from the list successfully.
02:57
Now you know how to use the Max Wait Timer to control the duration that values remain on your List,
03:04
as well as where and how tokens proceed when released.
