Configuring for regionalization

Configure the project units and rainfall theory options for the various standards around the globe.

Step-by-step:

InfoDrainage has the capacity to accommodate standards for units and rainfall studies from around the world. You can configure the project units and rainfall theory options for your local requirements.

  1. In the Plan View, click any pipe.

  1. In the Connections dialog box, in the table headers, you can see that the units are set to metric for these pipes.

  1. Close the dialog.
  2. Click File > Preferences.

  1. In the Preferences dialog, click the Regionalization tab.
  2. Expand the Units drop-down and select United States, then close the dialog.

  1. Click the same pipe as before, and this time in the Connections dialog, the units are set to Imperial feet.
  2. Open the Preferences dialog again.
  3. On the Regionalization tab, click Edit.
  4. Expand the Region drop-down and select User Defined.

  1. Back in the Regionalization dialog, expand the Region drop-down and select United States.
  2. A warning appears, telling you that the region will be changed to Global instead.
  3. Close the Preferences dialog.
  4. On the ribbon, click the Rainfall/Pollutants.
  5. Review the available rainfall event types.

  1. In the Network Design Criteria dialog box, Flow Options tab, expand the Peak Flow Calculation drop-down and select Rational Method.
  2. Click OK.

  3. Open the Preferences dialog box again.
  4. Click Regionalization, expand the Region drop-down and select United States.
  5. Click the Rainfall/Pollutants tab again and review the rainfall design options now available.
