In the Fusion Drawing workspace, you can generate professional 2D drawings of your 3D designs.
00:10
The drawing starts with placing a base view,
00:13
which establishes the orientation and scale,
00:16
and serves as the main reference for additional views, detailing, and dimensioning.
00:22
To create a new drawing, with your design open in Fusion,
00:26
expand the Workspace menu and select Drawing > From Design.
00:31
In the Create Drawing dialog, you can choose between Automatic or Manual drawing creation methods.
00:39
If you needed to apply settings from an existing template, you would choose Automatic.
00:46
Alternatively, leave Manual selected, as it is here, to create the drawing manually.
00:52
Next, Reference the components that you wish to include in the drawing;
00:57
for example, you can include the Full Assembly, only objects that are visible, or only selected components.
01:06
In this case, select Full Assembly.
01:09
Under Destination, for Drawing, select Create New.
01:15
Then, expand the Template drop-down to select an existing template, Browse for a template,
01:22
or, as in this case, create a drawing From Scratch.
01:26
Here, set the drawing Standard to ASME and the Units to inches, and select a standard Sheet Size of B.
01:35
The Width and Height of the sheet size are shown here as well.
01:38
Lastly, set the Orientation of the drawing to Landscape, then click OK to generate the drawing.
01:46
The base view is attached to your pointer and is represented by a shaded version of the view.
01:53
In the Drawing View dialog, select the Orientation for the base view from the default, isometric, or named views.
02:02
In this case, the default view, Front, is selected.
02:08
Next, set the Style to Visible and Hidden Edges, and then select a Scale, such as 1:1.
02:16
Move your pointer into the drawing to see the updated scale applied to the view.
02:21
Back in the dialog, adjust the Edge Visibility as needed.
02:26
For example, for Tangent Edges, select Full Length;
02:32
alternatively, you can select Shortened or Off.
02:37
In this case, enable both Interference Edges and Thread Edges.
02:43
Then, select options for Automated Center Marks and Center Lines,
02:48
such as enabling Center Marks and Center Lines for Holes.
02:52
To place the base view, click the desired location on the sheet.
02:58
Then, click OK to close the dialog and generate the 2D rendering.
