Once you have a set of results and a ground model loaded onto the GeoPlan, you can create a flood section window.

This cross section view displays the ground level, which ICM interpolates from the ground model;

To start, from the File menu, select Open>Open transportable database.

Open the folder where you downloaded the files for this exercise and select the .icmt file.

If a popup displays about opening the database as read-only, click Yes.

Right-click the top-level folder and select Copy.

When the popup displays, click Continue.

In the Explorer window, right-click the Database and select Paste (with children).

To create a flood section window, in the GeoPlan Tools toolbar, select the New Section View tool.

Use the mouse to adjust the view of the 2D River Model, so you can see the end where the water flows in.

On the GeoPlan, click near the inflow boundary,

and then draw a segmented line in the direction of flow, clicking three more times as you extend the line.

A section window is created and displays the ground level and water levels.

The water level appears as steps due to calculations made by ICM.

You can use the progress bar or the Replay Control toolbar to view the water levels at different times in the simulation.
