We're looking at the floor three plan view
00:06
and we can see that we have quite a number of rooms placed on this level.
00:10
This has also been repeated on the other levels within the project.
00:15
Now, we need to create a room schedule to document all of these rooms.
00:19
So to do this, we'll go to the view ribbon tab
00:22
and from the create panel here, we'll click the schedules drop down
00:25
and then click schedules and quantities.
00:29
And we need to find the room category here.
00:31
So I'll start to type rooms in the search bar here.
00:35
And then we can select rooms from the list of
00:36
categories and click OK to go to the schedule properties.
00:42
And we can see here that we have a list of available fields and we need to
00:46
add the required fields using the add parameters
00:48
button here to the list of scheduled fields.
00:51
So we'll start by selecting the level parameter
00:54
and then click the add parameter button
00:57
and then we'll add the name parameter
01:00
and the number parameter.
01:03
And finally, we'll get the area parameter
01:05
and add this to the scheduled fields.
01:09
So now we have all of those parameters added to the scheduled fields.
01:13
We'll go to the sorting and group in tab
01:16
and we first sort by level
01:19
and we'd also group by level as well.
01:21
So we'll select the header and footer options here.
01:25
And we'll also enable the blank line
01:28
and we'll set the footer to display count and totals.
01:32
And for thereby, we'll select the name parameter.
01:37
Now a little bit further down
01:39
will enable the grand totals to be displayed.
01:43
And now for the area to calculate a grand total, we'll need to go to the formatting tab
01:49
and then we can select the area parameter here.
01:52
We can see it's currently got no calculation.
01:54
So we'll click on and choose calculate totals.
01:59
And finally, we'll swap to the appearance tab
02:01
and for the body text here, we'll choose the 3 30 seconds aerial text type.
02:08
So we'll click ok to create that schedule.
02:14
Now, we can see we have those parameters as the headings across the columns here.
02:19
As we scroll down, we can see the group in. So it's group by level. So floor two here
02:24
and floor three
02:26
and at the bottom of each group,
02:27
we could see we have the number of rooms for
02:29
that group and the total area of that group.
02:32
And scrolling down to the bottom of the schedule.
02:35
We have the grand total number of rooms and the total area.
02:39
Now scrolling back up to the top of the schedule here.
02:42
We can see we have a group of not placed rooms
02:46
and these rooms
02:47
and these rooms that have been placed in the model at some stage
02:50
but have been subsequently deleted
02:53
and they remain in the schedule even though
02:55
they're not physically placed in the model.
02:57
However, we don't really want to see them in this schedule. So
02:60
we'll go to the modified schedules and quantities ribbon tab
03:03
and we have a panel for not placed unenclosed rooms and it's currently set to show.
03:08
So if we click hide
03:10
and then those not placed rooms will no longer be visible,
03:14
we'll go back and swap it to isolate,
03:16
which means that we can now only see the not placed rooms.
03:20
And actually,
03:21
it's good practice to delete these from the
03:23
schedule if they're not likely to be used.
03:26
So to do this, I'll select the first room
03:29
and then holding down the shift key on the keyboard,
03:31
I'll select the last one so that we have all of them selected.
03:35
And now we'll go to the modified schedules and
03:37
quantities ribbon here and from the rows panel,
03:40
we'll click the delete button.
03:42
We can see we have a message here just letting us know that by deleting these,
03:46
we may be deleting some rooms that have been placed in the model,
03:49
but we'll click ok to continue.
03:51
And now we can see we have none of the rooms visible.
03:54
So let's go back to the modified schedules and
03:56
quantities ribbon here and we'll click the show button.
03:60
So now we can see all of the rooms that we have placed in the model
04:04
and looking closer at the list of rooms that we have here.
04:07
We can see we have quite a lot of services rooms and also storage rooms.
04:11
So I'll swap back to the floor three layout plan view
04:15
and zoom in a little closer.
04:17
We can see that we have rooms placed along the corridor here and
04:20
these are actually the areas where the services can run between the floors.
04:24
And we don't really want these to be shown in our room schedule.
04:28
So I'll swap back to the room schedule for you now
04:31
and we'll use a filter to remove the services rooms
04:34
and we'll also remove the storage rooms.
04:37
So from the properties palette,
04:39
we'll click the edit button next to filter.
04:43
And now for the parameter to filter by, we'll choose name.
04:48
And now as this will filter rooms to include in the schedule,
04:52
we set the filter to be does not equal.
04:55
And then
04:56
we can choose from the list of names here, services.
04:59
And this means now that rooms whose name does
05:02
not equal services will be included in the schedule.
05:06
So I'll repeat this on the second row here. So we'll choose name
05:10
and then does not equal
05:14
and then we'll choose storage.
05:17
So now we will only have rooms whose names do not equal services or storage.
05:21
So we'll click. Ok.
05:25
And looking in the schedule,
05:26
we can see that all of those services and storage rooms are now no longer present.
