Let's talk about editing poly
00:06
lines and some of the techniques we can use.
00:09
First, let's talk about the P edit command.
00:13
You can access this command by typing in p edit on the command line.
00:18
You can also go to the home tab
00:21
and on the modify panel,
00:24
you can select the P edit or edit polyline button.
00:29
A third way you can edit a poly line is to
00:31
simply double click on it and then follow the command prompts.
00:38
Notice the command line gives you an option to select polyline or multiple.
00:45
Once you select the poly line,
00:48
you have many command line options to choose from
00:51
the first option
00:53
which says close
00:55
basically means you currently have an open poly line.
00:59
If you want to close it,
01:02
you can click on close notice. Now the option changes to open.
01:08
The next option is join.
01:11
Now, if we have individual lines that we want to become a poly line, we can use this
01:18
to join the lines.
01:19
If I explode the previously selected poly line,
01:24
I can then use the P edit command.
01:28
I could use multiple in this case
01:32
and select all the line work
01:36
that I had created,
01:39
you are then prompted to convert to poly lines.
01:42
And then if you use the join option,
01:46
hit, enter for the fuzz distance,
01:50
you then have used the join option
01:52
to join all the individual segments into one poly line.
01:57
The next option is the with option.
02:02
If we select width, we can type in a value such as 20
02:07
and just like that,
02:08
you can see that it is instantly applied to the Polyline.
02:18
Now that we've talked about most of the options for Polyline editing.
02:22
Let's talk about multifunctional grips,
02:25
multifunctional grips
02:27
can be used
02:29
to edit poly lines by simply hovering over the grip.
02:35
Notice that line segments have grips for stretching,
02:40
adding a vertex and converting to arc,
02:46
arc segments have grips for stretching
02:50
at a vertex
02:51
and converting to line.
