Transcript
00:03
In Navisworks, controlling the visibility of different elements in your model enables you to focus on specific details during project reviews.
00:13
There are a couple of tools that are useful for managing the display of elements efficiently.
00:19
If you want to remove specific parts of the model,
00:23
you can hide the objects in the current selection, so that they are not drawn in the Scene View.
00:29
For example, when you walk down the corridor of a building,
00:34
you may want to hide a wall that occludes your view of the next room.
00:38
Select an item in the model, then right-click the item and select Hide, or press Ctrl+H.
00:48
You can now see whatever is behind the hidden item.
00:51
To make the object visible again, from the Home tab, Visibility panel, click Unhide All.
01:00
Alternatively, if you want to hide multiple items, such as all the elements that make up the roof,
01:07
you can select the roof in the Selection Tree, and then click Hide in the Visibility panel.
01:14
Another key visibility feature is the ability to create cross sections of your model in a 3D workspace.
01:22
A cross section is a cut-away view of a 3D object that enables you to see inside the object.
01:30
From the Viewpoint tab, Sectioning panel, click Enable Sectioning.
01:36
On the Sectioning Tools tab, Mode panel, you can choose to create the cross section using a plane or a box.
01:45
In Planes mode, drag the move gizmo up or down to position the plane and see different parts of the building within your model.
01:54
In Box mode, drag the move gizmo to change where the box cuts the model.
02:02
You can adjust it in all directions—X, Y, and Z.
02:09
Now you know how to manage the display of elements within your model by hiding specific objects and by creating cross sections.
