The Project Manager makes it easy to open, close, or activate AutoCAD Electrical projects,
00:09
so you can seamlessly switch among multiple projects, which are essentially just collections of drawings.
00:16
If you want to open an existing project, either click the Open Project icon at the top of the Project Manager,
00:23
or expand the project drop-down and select Open Project.
00:28
In the Select Project File dialog, navigate to the .wdp file
00:33
—a project file, not an individual drawing file—
00:36
and then double-click the file, or select the file and click Open.
00:42
In this example, click Cancel, since the project is already open.
00:46
To see at a glance which project is currently active, check the top of the project list.
00:51
AutoCAD Electrical looks to this file for any project information, including menu files, symbol libraries, and other file references.
01:01
If you are performing a project-wide utility, remember that you can only do so on the active project.
01:08
To close any project in the Project Manager list, right-click the project and select Close.
01:13
Keep in mind that closing a project only removes it from this list of projects.
01:18
It does not delete the project.
01:21
To activate a project in the Project Manager list, right-click it and select Activate.
01:26
Doing so updates the list and moves that project to the top of the list.
01:31
With the Project Manager to help you keep track of your projects,
01:35
the files you need are always at your fingertips, right where you left them.
