Manage projects in AutoCAD Electrical

Open, Close, Activate! Employ the Project Manager to keep your projects organized, accessible, and ready to sub in.

The Project Manager makes it easy to open, close, or activate AutoCAD Electrical projects,

so you can seamlessly switch among multiple projects, which are essentially just collections of drawings.

If you want to open an existing project, either click the Open Project icon at the top of the Project Manager,

or expand the project drop-down and select Open Project.

In the Select Project File dialog, navigate to the .wdp file

—a project file, not an individual drawing file—

and then double-click the file, or select the file and click Open.

In this example, click Cancel, since the project is already open.

To see at a glance which project is currently active, check the top of the project list.

AutoCAD Electrical looks to this file for any project information, including menu files, symbol libraries, and other file references.

If you are performing a project-wide utility, remember that you can only do so on the active project.

To close any project in the Project Manager list, right-click the project and select Close.

Keep in mind that closing a project only removes it from this list of projects.
