In your AutoCAD Plant 3D workflow, you can proactively share data between symbols in a diagram and 3D model elements.

By creating a common link, data only has to be entered once, and you can easily determine what information is shared.

From the ribbon, Home tab, Project panel, click Project Manager.

From the drop-down, select Project Setup.

In the Project Setup dialog, expand the Plant 3D DWG settings.

Locate the P&ID Object Mapping tool, and select it.

On the right side of the dialog, you can see a list of all available classes, from primary class definitions to sub-class objects.

Expand the selection list from the Engineering Items, Equipment, and Pumps.

You now see two sections.

The top is the primary class definition settings for pumps.

The Add tool lets you add new 3D class definitions, and map properties simultaneously.

Select Pump, and then click Edit.
