Turning is a process where a stationary cutting tool machines a part while the part is rotating.

In Fusion, you can create different turning operations and then generate the machine instruction

Fusion provides several model datasets to help you familiarize yourself with the Manufacture workspace.

To open the turning model dataset, on the Application bar, click Show Data Panel.

If you are already in a project folder, click Home.

Scroll down and double-click to open the Cam Samples folder, then open the Tutorials subfolder.

Here, locate Tutorial6, and then double-click to open it.

Once the design is open, on the Application bar, notice the lock icon on the document tab.

This indicates that the design is read-only and cannot be edited.

Before making changes, you need to create a copy of the sample dataset and save it as a new project.

Click the Home icon at the top of the Data Panel.

If an “Introduction” project is not already created, create it, click New Project and name it "Introduction".

Once created, double-click to open the folder.

Now, from the File menu, select Save as.

Keep the same name or change it if you prefer, expand the locations and choose the Introduction project, then click Save.
