In Recap Pro, you can remove or blur sensitive data that was captured in your scans.
00:10
A common use for this feature is on scan data that includes people, to protect identities when sharing this data.
00:18
In this example, multiple people can be seen on various park benches in the RealView.
00:24
Since this is sensitive data, you isolate and blur the bench areas.
00:30
From the Contextual tile menu, switch to the 3D View.
00:35
Hover the cursor over Window and use the Fence selection tool to draw a polygon around an area to blur—here, the first bench.
00:46
Select Region > New Region, set a Region name, such as "People", and then click OK.
00:57
Using this same process, navigate through the 3D View to select and create new regions of other benches with people.
01:06
Name the regions "People 2", "People 3", etc.
01:11
Once you have created all the regions representing the areas for removal,
01:16
from the Project Navigator, under Scan Regions, select the People region, and then click the Delete button.
01:26
In the delete popup, select points + region.
01:31
Repeat this deletion process for the other People regions you created.
01:37
From the Home tile menu, click Save to save the project.
01:43
In the optimize project dialog, enable optimize 3D point cloud and modify RealView.
01:53
In this case, the deleted areas in RealView can be colored or blurred, depending on the settings.
02:00
For this example, choose blur the image.
02:04
You can use the slider to set the level of blur.
02:08
Click OK.
02:10
From the Contextual tile menu, switch to RealView and navigate to see the blurred areas.
02:17
While in the same session, you also have the option to recover the deleted points.
02:24
From the Home tile menu, select recover deleted points.
02:28
Click OK to restore the images in RealView back to their original state.
