With Fusion 360 for Manufacturing, you can generate various turning operations,
00:08
such as the thread toolpath.
00:11
When creating a thread toolpath, you will need a threading tool in your tool library.
00:16
You will also need to ensure that both the thread toolpath
00:19
and the threading tool use the same threading hand direction.
00:23
With a design that includes threads open in the Manufacture space,
00:26
expand the Workspace Picker and select Design.
00:31
From the timeline, right-click the thread feature and click Edit Feature.
00:35
From the Edit Feature dialog, notice that the specified direction is Right hand.
00:40
Navigate back to the Manufacture workspace, Turning tab.
00:45
Then in the Browser, locate the existing thread toolpath, right-click it, and from the shortcut menu, click Edit.
00:52
From the Thread dialog, open the Passes tab.
00:55
Next, expand the Threading Hand drop-down.
00:58
Here, you can specify which direction a fastener should tighten on the thread.
01:04
Right-handed threads require a fastener to turn clockwise to tighten,
01:08
and left-handed threads require a fastener to turn counterclockwise to tighten.
01:13
Ensure Right handed is selected.
01:16
Now it is time to match the threading hand of the threading tool.
01:20
Open the Tool tab and click Select to open the tool library.
01:24
With a thread milling tool selected, click Edit tool.
01:28
From the Setup tab, set the Orientation to 0 degrees.
01:34
Open the Holder tab.
01:37
Expand the Hand drop-down and select R = right handed.
01:42
Click Accept, and then click Select.
01:46
Back in the Thread dialog, click OK.
01:48
Right-click the toolpath from the Browser again,
01:52
and this time select Simulate.
01:55
Review the threading toolpath for accuracy.
