Elevate your design and manufacturing processes with Autodesk Fusion
Good news! The learning doesn’t have to stop now that Autodesk University 2022 is over. With 460 classes available online to choose from across all Autodesk products, you’ll be sure to find something new and exciting that sparks your interests. If you’re looking for a few suggestions on where to get started, here are five Fusion 360 classes you can watch for free today:
1. Design With Just 12 Commands: The Essential Modeling Commands in Fusion 360
In this interactive demo/training class, we demonstrate how to create a real-world design using just 12 commands in the Design workspace. You’ll leave the class knowing key Fusion 360 basics and a road map to explore the more advanced areas you’re interested in.
2. How Grumpy Sloth Created a Mechanical Keyboard with Inventor & Fusion 360
Explore how boutique mechanical keyboard startup Grumpy Sloth designs and manufactures their own keyboards from the ground up, including a custom PCB. With initial concepts laid out in Fusion 360, they went on to create and detail the product model in Inventor, managing the design with Vault. They then used Fusion 360 for developing the PCB and manufacturing the rest of the components.
3. Creating Custom Prosthetic Arms Using Solid and Mesh Modeling in Fusion 360
This class is all about Victoria Hand Project (VHP), a charity that designs and deploys low-cost 3D-printed prosthetic arms in resource-poor areas of the world. VHP provides clinicians in these regions with the tools and training to create custom prosthetic arms, including in-house developed software that utilizes Fusion 360 to create these devices. Check out how VHP’s workflow empowers them to create quickly and easily, enabling improved access to prosthetic care.
4. Generative Design in Fusion 360: 2022 and Beyond
In this session, you’ll take a look at how generative design in Fusion 360 has matured in 2022 and how our improvements will help enable your success. You’ll hear about a Fusion 360 customer’s journey with generative design, all the way through manufacturing and physical validation. We’ll also look into the future at how we plan to expand the types of engineering outcomes that can be explored with generative design.
5. Fusion Product Design Extension Tips and Tricks
Designing plastic parts can take up a lot of time and be prone to errors. In this class, you’ll learn how to use the Product Design Extension to automate time-consuming and repetitive tasks using manufacturing-aware features such as Boss, Snap Fit, Web, Rib, and Rest. We’ll demonstrate the best practices for using Plastic Part Rules to control your design and capture know-how for easy creation, editing, and reuse. We’ll also share tips and tricks for creating complex geometric patterns and using Presets.
If you missed out on any of these classes IRL, don’t worry!
