At this year’s Maker Faire Rome we announced our partnership with Other Machine Co. makers of the Othermill. The Othermill is a consumer CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine that can be used to make silicone molds, machine a variety of woods, metals, and oh yeah… PCB boards!

It is this last facet of this amazing tool that makes it of interest to us. You can upload your EAGLE board design to circuits.io and then from there you can click on the Make with Othermill button (Figure 1).

After clicking the Make with Othermill button, you’ll see the following dialog(Figure 2)

Circuits.io will do a preliminary check on your design to make sure it’s within the capabilities of the current generation of Othermills. From here you can click “Open in Otherplan” to import your design into Otherplan which is the software the controls your Othermill. If you don’t wish to upload your designs to circuits.io you can still use Otherplan directly since it takes EAGLE files natively.
