Your Ideas from the Fusion IdeaStation
We have received 8 new ideas in the past week. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!
Our user’s recommendations drive our product development, so please share your ideas and product requests, and vote for the features you want to see implemented, on the IdeaStation. Here are a few of the most popular recent ideas.
Integration with 3D CAD parts provider
New accepted idea to have Autodesk partner with TraceParts Online, CADenas, and any others to integrate their catalog directly in to Fusion 360.
Product team – “We did a beta integration with CADENAS a few months ago and the final integration should be available on the exchange site soon.”
Idea under review to allow users the option to set a default text for the API, and allow an “open with” dialog when selecting a file from the Scripts Manager.
Product team – “Good idea Justin. We have been considering this internally too. There are always trade offs when allowing you to switch editors. Would you be ok your prefered editor was unable to debug scripts and you had to come back to our tools for debugging?”
Offer calibrate canvas tool to automatically center an image
New idea to add an option to the calibrate tool that says “Align the canvas to an axis to the midpoint of the measurement”
Product team – “Thanks nkloski. We were actually just discussing this and that it needs to be worked on. I have encountered this and a few other “oddities” with the way canvasing works. Being able to easily center these would be extremely helpful (great example by Scott below), so look forward to this being added in the future.”
