The landscape of product development is transforming in the way products are conceptualized, designed, manufactured, and brought to market. Now, more than ever, it’s important for design and manufacturing businesses to connect people, processes, and data throughout the entire product development lifecycle. At AU 2023, we gave our customers a closer look into our vision for the Autodesk Fusion Industry Cloud for Manufacturing, which will represent a new era of connected data and collaboration for individuals, teams, and entire organizations to design and make anything.
The Fusion Industry Cloud connects the entire product development process, from design to manufacturing. By leveraging the power of connected processes, generative AI, and cloud-based data unification, Autodesk Fusion stands at the forefront of technological evolution. It’s not just a tool but an ecosystem that spans Autodesk’s extensive portfolio.
Autodesk acquired the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Prodsmart in 2022 as a step toward this goal to connect the stages of product development. Prodsmart brings real-time production information to the Fusion industry cloud, enabling teams to track product data from design through to production. Now, in an effort to better align the powerful capabilities of Prodsmart with Fusion, we are excited to announce that Prodsmart has been renamed to Autodesk Fusion Operations.
Fusion Operations: A seamless connected factory experience
Fusion Operations is a cloud-based solution for operations on the manufacturing floor that harnesses the power of the Autodesk Fusion Industry Cloud for Manufacturing. It gives shop floor managers access to real-time information, helping them have complete knowledge of the bottlenecks on the shop floor, eliminate repetitive tasks, accelerate productivity, and gain critical, real-time insights about product manufacture and business operations.
Fusion Operations empowers you to optimize production and resource planning, increase production throughput, minimize machine and worker downtime, and improve job scheduling flexibility. It also enables quick, accurate, and real-time tracking of orders, allowing clear traceability of resources, machines, and workers throughout the production line. With Fusion Operations, you can gain a competitive edge by making use of critical operational metrics such as throughput and downtime and unlocking visibility into compliance-specific safety and environmental handling processes.
“For anyone looking to increase their efficiency and accuracy, it’s important to take a closer look at Fusion Operations. It makes your daily work much easier.”
—Philipp Schütte, Production Manager, Powertrust
We are rolling out updates to the Prodsmart browser user interface and mobile app to reflect the new Fusion Operations branding, including logo and color scheme changes. However, rest assured, this rebranding will not affect the existing MES features and capabilities you have come to rely on within Prodsmart. Please note that the branding changes outlined above should be automatic, but if your automatic updates are switched off in your mobile device settings, you may need to update manually to see the changes.
As we embark on the exciting journey to connect all stages of product development, we want to express our sincere gratitude to our customers for your continued support. If you have not experienced Fusion Operations yet, start a free trial today to track and analyze your operations in real time.
At Autodesk, we’re committed to your success and are here to support you every step of the way as we shape the future of manufacturing operations together. For any specific inquiries, we encourage you to contact your Autodesk sales partner who will be more than happy to speak with you about this update.
