In this QUICK TIP, I wanted to cover something I set out to do not too long ago, which was to figure out an initial component/body count for a design I had consolidated using generative design. Unfortunately, this doesn’t show up in properties, and from my experience isn’t readily available, so I had to get a little creative in my solution…then a brilliant and talented guy showed me another powerful way to do this using Text Commands in Fusion 360. Make sure to check out some of those other apps mentioned (OpenBOM, Bommer, and CSV-BOM), and if you’re into programming, the text commands can open up a whole new world for you.

Have a great week!
