Elevate your design and manufacturing processes with Autodesk Fusion
We love bikes, their functionality, and the freedom to explore on the Fusion 360 team. But most of all we love the design. That’s why we’re supporting The Oregon Manifest Bike Design Project, a contest to design and build the ultimate urban utility bike. Five of the country’s most innovative design firms and bike builders will be competing in the Project – we want to give you insights into the design process and give you the opportunity to design the trophy for the winners.
The project kicked off today, and each month we’ll be sharing insights into teams’ progress and design process. The final designs being submitted by the firms will be built and revealed on July 25th, and then you get to vote for your favorite bike to win. The winning designers (announced on August 4th) will have their bike mass produced by Fuji Bikes and earn the winning trophy to proudly display in their studio.
That trophy? The Fusion 360 community gets to design it! In June we’ll kick off a challenge for you to design the Bike Design Project trophy using Fusion 360. Then we’re going to 3D print and give to the winner. Keep checking here for more details on how to get involved.
So, who are the 5 design firms and bike builders competing in this challenge?
- Chicago: Minimal + Method Bicycle
- New York City: Pensa + Horse Cycles
- Portland: INDUSTRY + TiCycles
- San Francisco: Huge Design + 4130 Cycle Works
- Seattle: TEAGUE + Sizemore Bicycle
As you can tell, we’re really excited about the challenge to build the ultimate urban utility bike and seeing each team’s vision come to life. We’re not ashamed to admit that we’re rooting for INDUSTRY PDX who will be using Fusion 360 as part of their design process – check out how they’re using it as they take on the challenge.
To exploration & design,
Kat & the Fusion 360 team
