Elevate your design and manufacturing processes with Autodesk Fusion
Congratulations to Davide Florentino, the Model of the Month winner for December! Davide has used Fusion 360 to design a beautiful air purifier that incorporates plants. Read on for more about Davide, his passion for design, and the projects he has underway.
My name is Davide Florentino. I am 38 years old and I live in Pordenone, a little town in northeast Italy. I am an experienced aircraft mechanic, and recently my passion for design and 3D graphics has grown dramatically — as you can see from my designs posted on the Fusion Gallery.
About the Air Purifier
The idea for the air purifier project came out of a real need we have these days in Italy: dealing with high levels of air pollution. The purpose of the project is to make plants — our only real source of oxygen — the centerpiece. I believe that there should be air purifiers in every home that can be integrated into the house structure or as design ornaments. Continued development of these purifiers will require more detailed studies on how plants produce oxygen and remove toxins from the air.
Why Fusion 360
With Fusion 360, it was love at first sight. I love its extreme simplicity: you can create virtually anything with just a few clicks. I can move an idea from paper to the computer very quickly, then continue developing it easily, getting the most out of all sorts of flat and curved forms.
Future Projects
I am currently working on several projects:
- a system of hydroponic air purifiers that generates oxygen by night using a photovoltaic electrical system
- a complete sailboat with electric inboard motor
- a new collection of furniture for designers
