December 5th, Update – What’s New
We dropped some nice goodies in this update related to modeling, 2D drawings, browser client, and much more.
Check out this QUICK TIP to learn how to get some nice renders from Fusion 360 after addressing just a handful of the wide array of settings.
How rLoop is Delivering the Vision for the Hyperloop
Reddit community members assembled the world’s first crowd-sourced engineering team to compete in the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod competition. With nearly 1,200 members from more than 50 countries, rLoop’s unique magnetic levitation system makes them among the most interesting teams competing.

Your Ideas from the Fusion 360 IdeaStation
We take your suggestions very seriously as they help to shape Fusion 360. Please share your ideas and vote for new features / enhancements you would like to see. Here are a few submissions from the week:
- Material Selection – Would you consider adding material selection when creating a new component? Create, new component, name, then material. It would save time when building assemblies.
- Fusion 360 and OpenFOAM – Enable the use of OpenFOAM as a solver for CFD, FEA, etc by leveraging Fusions modeling and simulation environment to act as a pre and post processor.
- Draft Option for Extrusions and Webs – In Inventor, when creating an extrusion there is a second tab named More and when creating ribs a tab named Draft. These tabs provide the option of creating draft concurrently with the feature. This saves a lot of time when compared to Fusion 360.
