Congratulations to Giichi and his car model – winner of the Fusion 360 model of the month for February. Hear more from Giichi below…
Hi everyone! My name is Giichi Endo and I’m from Japan. I currently work as a Design Director for Nichinan and was previously a Car Designer at Nissan for 24 years.
I primarily design cars and consumer products, and my work spans from ideation and modeling to visualization with digital tool applications. Being able to show 3D concept models and renderings to my clients is a great way to gain rapport and ensure the customer understands my design intentions.
My primary design tools of choice are Alias and Fusion 360. I started using Fusion 360 about a year and a half ago and love the fact everything is on a single platform. It’s extremely easy for me to collaborate and share data, and I am also impressed with the local Japanese user community that is growing by the day.
I currently teach Fusion 360 at various events to not only broaden my own knowledge, but to spread the word about how great the product is. I am also in the midst of writing two books that will include Fusion 360. The first book is focused on the approach to 3D CAD design. It will include Fusion 360 case studies and will target both amateurs and professionals. The second book focuses on my various design methods and techniques and will target mid-level users. The book will span across a variety of industries to include furniture, automotive, architecture and more.
