If you’re like me, you have 3+ documents open at any given time in Fusion 360. And, up until last week, to change the active document I relied upon finding and selecting the tab from above the toolbar. This isn’t a problem when you have 2 or 3 documents open, but as that goes to 10 or 20, the [x] to close the document gets more and more likely to get accidentally selected…
What I learned last week that will help in these cases, was that you can switch active documents with a keyboard shortcut. It you hit Ctrl (or Command) and the tilde key (~), you’ll switch between those documents. This can be done with single hand, and can help you stay focused on what you’re designing, or switching to.
But wait, there’s more! When I shared this with Michael Sagan, he came back with yet another amazing –but hard to discover– shortcut. No teaser on that one; to see what that is, you’re just gonna have to watch the QUICK TIP:
I hope those help! A lot of the comments in YouTube suggest it should be something else, or that shortcuts should be customizable. To that I have an answer: we’re listening! Until that happens, however, use this info to help gain efficiencies in Fusion 360.
Cheers,
