Excited to see a familiar face? Shop Talk is so excited to have Becky Stern back for another episode!
If you don’t know us, Shop Talk is an Autodesk Fusion podcast where we catch up with designers and makers live from their workshops. We give listeners candid conversations with talented folks who pour their hearts and soul into their craft. As aforementioned, we welcome Becky Stern back on the show!
For those who don’t know her, Becky Stern is a maker, content creator, and educator from New York City. She has a YouTube channel, a blog, and an online store. She has been in the maker community for a long time, working with Make magazine, Adafruit, and Instructables. There isn’t a corner of the maker internet she hasn’t touched. In this episode, Becky is sharing with us a cool new project turned product she launched: a beginners electronic kit.
Somebody bought [a kit] with the warm yellow LEDs, and made these little Star Wars Jawa dolls. I thought that was super cute. And I hadn’t thought of making it because I’m admittedly not the biggest Star Wars fan. They came out so adorable!
Recently, I saw someone use my constellation embroidery in a class. They were teaching a whole class and people got to pick what they wanted to make. I like getting pictures of people’s projects, but unfortunately people aren’t very forthcoming with that kind of thing. I mean, you and I both know from working at Instructables how many people will make an Instructable versus posting themselves with their project online. We love it, by the way, seeing what people make and share with others.
