Elevate your design and manufacturing processes with Autodesk Fusion
Sure, the move command is pretty basic – the ability to move a sketch or a body to a specific location of your design environment is pretty fundamental, but what a lot of people don’t know is that it is also a very versatile direct modeling manipulation tool. Yup, move over press-pull (no pun intended); this is how you do it.
1. Start a basefeature from the Create dropdown menu.
2. Then select create box or a body of your choice.
3. Now click on a specific surface, right click, and choose move.
You’ll now be able to move that surface with your manipulators. You’ll also be able to angle the surface and pull it after it’s been angled by repeating the move command.
Combine this technique with the extrude command and you’ll be able to extrude your angled surfaces perpendicular to the angle you had previously set.
Here is the command in action, as knowledgeably demonstrated by our good friend, Alex Lobos.
