Success Story
ETC S.A. is an Argentine company with vast experience in the manufacturing of expanded metal and perforated sheet metal. They have the technology to process a wide range of gauges of various materials, covering all lines in both expanded metals and perforated sheets.
ETC had the need to be able to incorporate a tool that would allow them to see, create, analyze and document their designs of folded and perforated sheets, electro welded meshes, finishing profiles, metal floors and stairs and perimeter closures in 3D and not only in 2D. They chose to incorporate Autodesk Inventor Professional, for its powerful integrated tools for sheet metal and structure design and the ease in viewing, creating and documenting their 3D designs.
The following project goals were prioritized:
1) Transfer all the company's 2D designs into 3D models in less than 2 years.
2) Validate 3D digital prototypes in early stages, which implies improvements and optimizations of the product at a low operating cost.
3) Facilitate structural analysis studies
4) Train engineers and product designers in Autodesk Inventor Professional.
The begin the project, engineers and product designers who were located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, were trained online. The duration of the training covered 40 hours. With after-sales technical support and monitoring sessions both ETC S.A. and the service provider Cadsyst ensure the correct use of the software.
Before implementing Autodesk software, all their designs were in 2D format, which made it difficult for them to visualize, analyze and document their products. After implementing Autodesk Inventor Professional, they managed to migrate their designs to a 3D format.
The results and benefits obtained immediately benefited ETC S.A.. Engineers and designers adopted the new tool, managing to reduce design times and incorporating product improvements and optimizations at a low operating cost, allowing them to visualize, analyze and document their designs more effectively.
The acquisition of Autodesk Inventor Professional was very beneficial for ETC S.A. as they were able to quickly implement a design and engineering solution specifically for their sheet metal products. In this way, they optimized and innovated the designs they had been manufacturing until now.

Nastran In-CAD Implementation Project - SICA
SICA METALÚRGICA ARGENTINA S.A. is a company specialized in the design and manufacture of pressure vessels for the Oil, Gas and Chemical industry. Their need was the implementation of a simulation solution for product engineering that could optimize and predict the behavior of designs and/or products in a fast, precise and flexible way before manufacturing them. They chose to incorporate Autodesk Nastran In-CAD, since it supports finite element analysis (FEA) and allows the evaluation of thermal and mechanical behaviors in linear and non-linear materials.
Fusion 360 Implementation Project - Pulpak
Pulpak is a company dedicated to providing a comprehensive solution to the problem of industrial waste. The Company offers an attractive portfolio of ecologically friendly packaging products including solutions that enable the end consumer to dispose of the packaging without causing environmental damage, being this product is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. The Company operates in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego (Argentina) where its industrial plant is located and in the City of Buenos Aires with a commercial and administration team. The need was the implementation of a solution for product engineering that could produce packaging and protective packaging materials for other items: televisions, computers, microwaves, refrigerators, etc. in 3D and develop from 2D plans. Autodesk Fusion 360 was the right solution as it combines parametric, direct and mesh modeling tools. It is also completely cloud-based, promoting collaboration for remote teams.
