The French team confronted a specific challenge in verifying models received from companies. Manual checks were required to ensure compliance with various building standards, including height, number of floors, and wall layers. 

Additionally, they had to confirm accurate wall construction, proper placement of sprinklers along pathways, and functional exit stairs with doors that opened correctly. This meticulous process proved to be tedious and time-consuming.

On the other hand, the US branch encountered a unique hurdle concerning building compliance. Their focus centered on ensuring easy accessibility for individuals with mobility issues, such as those using wheelchairs. This involved examining factors like ramp inclines, accessible parking spaces, and seamless movement between floors in hospitals.

To ease the French and North American teams’ burden, we developed an automated checker to verify building compliance. This helped them streamline their operations and focus on more important tasks.

Revit offers a convenient solution for ensuring building compliance with its rule-based approach to modeling. By opening the model in Revit and activating the desired rules, users can run one or multiple rules simultaneously. 

The results are displayed as either green if the model passes the rule, or red if it fails, allowing users to quickly identify any areas that require further attention. This approach not only saves time but also ensures accuracy in building compliance verification. Users can make necessary changes to the model and re-check it until it passes all the rules. Once all the checks are complete, the model can be easily exported and shared with others.

By streamlining operations and freeing up time spent on tedious manual checks, Bureau Veritas’ architecture divisions in France and North America can now focus on more important tasks, ultimately improving their productivity and efficiency.
