DMCI HOMES SUCCESS IN VIRTUAL OPTIMIZATION

DMCI HOMES SUCCESS IN VIRTUAL OPTIMIZATION

Customer challenge

As part of DMCI Homes' design improvement in high-rise buildings, they were inspired to have a digital solution that could help them explore air movement in a variety of environments, without having any compatibility issues with their 3D CAD tools. They are also aiming to eliminate invalid results, have more accuracy in their model and maximize storage space.

Project goals

DMCI Homes identified the following main project goals: 1) Know the effectiveness and efficiency of their basement ventilation design 2) Reduce consultancy costs in validating an analysis 3) Meet tight project schedule/deadlines

Solution

Through thorough trainings provided by Autodesk Solution Provider Shellsoft, DMCI Homes are now using Autodesk CFD (computational fluid dynamics simulation software) to directly validate designs and determine areas or items that need improvement in terms of layouts and specifications of equipment. The CFD simulation solution has also helped to model their air flow pattern deficiencies.

Business outcome

With the adoption of CFD simulation, DMCI Homes have generated savings in their equipment by 20%, having an upfront simulation that helps them improve their flow and thermal design decisions in a virtual environment. Savings from consultancy has been gained as well, by having an in-house design.

Conclusion

By initially providing just product awareness, the Shellsoft team is glad that they have provided a tool to DMCI Homes on which they are utilizing well now, by helping them predict product performance, optimize designs, and validate product behavior before building and construction.
