Success Story

INITIA DESIGN STUDIO

INITIA DESIGN STUDIO

Customer challenge

The INITIA project involved herculean tasks on its course and required complete team dedication. It was a journey of interpreting complex final designs for vehicle surfaces, conversion of a sketch into 3D, digital prototyping for engineering and feasibility of the design, evaluation of the design post-engineering alterations, and a skilled approach towards software adaptability.

Project goals

Two priority project goals were identified: 1) To showcase a concept Electric 2-Wheeler with radical design and demonstrate technology innovation through user-centric design. 2) Develop a functional prototype for production.

Solution

Following the engineering package, initial ideation and market trend study, the INITIA design team set out to create a design which would change the perspective about EV 2-wheelers in India. Autodesk Alias was used to bring the original concept to flesh in 3D. The software allowed us to incorporate constant design changes in 3D while retaining the original design concept in real scale enabling faster design decisions. Autodesk VRED's high quality rendering capabilities allow us to showcase projects in an experiential manner.

Business outcome

The Project Intent was to showcase the capabilities from sketch to a fully functional technology demonstrator vehicle. All components were designed keeping in mind the latest trends, innovation, technology and feasibility which was appreciated by the OEM customer base. Autodesk Alias helped us to create the CAS/Class A surface for every designed component. Autodesk VRED Professional helped us create real-time visualizations for vehicle and component levels.

Conclusion

Autodesk products align with industry expectations. The solutions aid in the design cycle and post-design visualization of auto parts which is a crucial step in the Automotive Design Process.

Moldflow for Rapid Heating and Cooling

Varroc Polymers Pvt. Ltd. is a subsidiary of the Varroc Group and was established in 2010 to make plastic molds required for manufacturing various types of automotive components. These components such as headlamp covers, mudguards, and more are mainly used in the trimming of prototypes and subsequently mass manufactured. Nevertheless, the challenge was to identify plastic part issues before doing tooling, by making use of a complex process such as Rapid Heating and Cooling.

VYOM Architects use Autodesk AEC Industry Collection and BIM Collaborate Pro

VYOM (India) had the following challenges: 1) Looking for a solution which helps the Design Team to increase efficiency in design, coordination with other consultants, and provides data reports to help eliminate clashes in the initial phase of project. 2) To visualize and communicate the design intent in a more realistic environment. 3) To streamline this design and collaboration process, implement a digital platform which will increase the operational efficiency.
