Kairos Project Group, Inc. - Revit MEP Implementation

Kairos Project Group, Inc. - Revit MEP Implementation

Customer challenge

Kairos knew that Revit was where the industry was moving, but was hesitant to switch due to their workload and the current workflow based on AutoCAD. Initially, they jumped into Revit and were self-taught. Unfortunately, when they ran into issues and deadlines, they would end up dropping back into AutoCAD to finish the project. After 4 months of using Revit, they ended up with projects that were partially in Revit and partially in AutoCAD.

Project goals

Kairos had three main goals for their Revit training: 1.Break their bad habits – be able to complete a project in Revit without having to revert to AutoCAD. 2.Be more accurate in their design – make the actual deliverable a more accurate representation of their design intent. 3.Become more efficient – since they design multiple types of projects, they need to be able to setup different project standards and templates to begin their projects correctly.

Solution

To support them to reach their goals, we offered an onsite Revit MEP training to deliver an understanding of how Revit works and how to complete a project.

Business outcome

In addition to helping them reach their goals, the ease of access to TPM support has made it an easy transition by providing help with topics that they may not have remembered from the training.

Conclusion

Kairos is fully standardized on Autodesk Revit as their project platform and no longer have to go back to AutoCAD to finish a project. They are now working on establishing their project standards to further even more their development with Revit.

Gaining Efficiency and Control of Facilities Project Management

Techtronic Cordless GP – Techtronic Industries (TTI), a world leader in power tools, accessories, hand tools, and outdoor power equipment, sought to reduce process inefficiencies with their project management solution, which TTI extensively outsourced to external consultants. TTI leveraged Autodesk Solution Provider TPM to review its current process and determine if the Autodesk Construction Cloud offered advantages over its existing methods. Of specific concern was the need to address cost budgeting and handle various tasks more efficiently, such as change orders and RFI submittals.
