Varroc Polymers Pvt. Ltd. is a subsidiary of the Varroc Group and was established in 2010 to make plastic molds required for manufacturing various types of automotive components. These components such as headlamp covers, mudguards, and more are mainly used in the trimming of prototypes and subsequently mass manufactured. Nevertheless, the challenge was to identify plastic part issues before doing tooling, by making use of a complex process such as Rapid Heating and Cooling.

Project goals

Making the product available to market in less time and manufacturing the part with good aesthetic was the main goal for the project. An appropriate injection molding analysis procedure to avoid manual iterations after tooling had to be considered. Making potential use of software technology was explored to help identify the plastic part issues and optimize the unique manufacturing process.

Solution

Advance simulation processes such as rapid heating and cooling which takes place inside the mold was explained to the customer with demo models and the theoretical content. This Injection Molding Process solution was quickly rolled out with support to the Varroc team. By implementing the procedure, Neilsoft was able to offer Varroc a powerful solution which provided very accurate results for plastic parts to identify their issues and resolve them during the design stage to increase production efficiency and reduce time to market.
