Tigma is specialize in Providing Customized Precision Components as per the customer drawing and specification. Tigma Precision Engineering Pvt. Ltd. is experiencing lots of issues during the manufacturing of critical aerospace, Medical & Health care components they were unable to produce the components within the desired deadline period due to more setup timing and getting poor finish of the products & huge manufacturing costs which leads them to lack of confidence to fulfil their customer’s requirements & unable to reach their goals in time.

In Tigma Precision Engineering Pvt. Ltd most of the programming had been done by conventionally or by basic 3-axis 2D or 3D toolpaths as already they were using Autodesk Powermill. So Acuity Engineering is identified the following implements for better results 1) Implementation of Autodesk PowerMill with advanced training & Enable the installation of 4th axis rotary support to one of the available BFW machine which is available at the Tigma’s shop floor. 2) Deliver the Post processor support for 4th Axis rotary attachment & technical support for the same to cam programmers & machine operators, 3) Technical support for CAD designers to develop the 3D models and design, drafting drawings. 4) Single solution to clarify the process at Design team, Cam Programmers, Operators with the help distribution of customized setup sheet across the team.

Solution

After the initial discussion with Tigma Precision Engineering Pvt. Ltd. our Acuity team understand their Work processes and identified the changes required for betterment of customer’s requirements and suggested to 4th Axis rotary setup is installed. With the help of Autodesk PowerMill standard trained the Tigma’s cam programmers and operators to 4th axis Positional Machining to reduce multiple setups to single setup at rotary axis. & Post Processor Modifications and customisation support is given with reference to their available BFW machine. With this They were also able reduce the overall time by production time by eliminating multiple setups Autodesk PowerShape Training is given to cad designers for 3D modelling of components. Tigma team were satisfied with high progress in quality of jobs with efficient finishing strategies. Distribution of setup sheet across the team which helps them to understand the process with design and manufacturing team.

Team is now only using the Autodesk PowerMill & Autodesk PowerShape for all their manufacture workflows and as per our suggested solution Tigma team optimized their workflows and managed to reduce the cycle time 25-30% by eliminating the multiple setups and without manual polishing helped them to increase in productivity with highly precision quality finished components. Autodesk PowerMill & Autodesk Powershape solution gave them the freedom to switch between design and CAM software when needed.
