Project goals

Improving the communication between internal/external design teams and extended project members by setting up a common data environment using BIM 360 platform and enabling right permissions to right stakeholders. Changes in the traditional email and paper-based approach to review & approve designs, eliminating data silos created by users and ensuring the entire team stays on latest versions of project data. Training and implementation to equip users with right BIM 360 skills and its adoption.

Solution

CADD Emirates’s BIM 360 Consultant and See Nexus’s design team conducted the existing workflow discussions. The road map to digitize them using BIM 360 was developed and implemented on a pilot project, by defining folder structure, review & approval workflows, adding customized attributes to record data and issues on designs. Once the project template with desired workflows was set, the core product training to design team and review process workshops were arranged to Management team.

Business outcome

An anytime-anywhere access to Revit models and other documents has enabled See Nexus team to always stay on top of design developments, iterations and reviews & approvals of project data. Design Collaboration helped design team to shift their Work-sharing from local drives to Cloud Work-sharing with increased control on WIP and published data. The integrated Change Visualization of BIM 360 platform further allows the designers and reviewers to spend less time in finding and comparing changes.
