Success Story
AUDO is a dynamic team of architects, urban planners and landscape architects that undertake architectural and urban projects, both private and public, from concept to implementation. The AUDO portfolio includes public buildings, such as museums, University buildings, Hospitals, Convention Centers, private buildings such as residential buildings, hotels, offices, and industrial facilities, as well as Landscape Projects, Gardens, Urban Design Projects, Restorations and Art Projects. Many of the works of AUDO have received distinctions in architectural competitions, many have been published and presented in print or online.
AUDO leaders Costis and Phoivos Skroubelos, recognized an exciting opportunity to evolve its workflows and stay ahead in a rapidly transforming industry. Having relied on Rhino for many years, the firm had developed a strong foundation in digital design. However, as project demands grew more complex and industry expectations shifted toward BIM-based collaboration, AUDO saw a chance to take the next step in their journey. They envisioned this transition as more than just a software change; it was an opportunity to enhance their processes, improve design accuracy, and unlock new creative potential.
Their goal was clear: to migrate from Rhino to Autodesk Revit and embrace BIM methodologies, equipping the team to deliver more coordinated, efficient, and sophisticated projects. They wanted to position themselves as leaders in the architectural field, capable of managing both intricate design and seamless project delivery. To achieve this, AUDO needed to ensure their team not only mastered Revit but also gained the confidence to apply BIM workflows across every stage of their projects. A critical aspect of this evolution was finding the right partner to guide them through the transition with expertise and hands-on support.
Our team at Loulakis & Associates, as an Autodesk Authorized Training Center and Service Partner, was engaged to help AUDO navigate this transformation. With extensive experience in BIM consulting and Revit implementation, Chronis Loulakis structured a comprehensive solution tailored to the firm’s needs. The journey began with Basic and Advanced Revit training, empowering the entire AUDO team to become proficient in the platform. This foundational training provided the tools and skills they needed to explore new ways of working and approach projects with greater precision and control.
To ensure that the transition went beyond theory, Chronis Loulakis followed up with personalized consulting services on a variety of key residential and hospitality projects. By applying their newly acquired skills to a live project, the team experienced firsthand how Revit and BIM could enhance their workflows. Loulakis & Associates experts worked closely with them throughout the project, resolving challenges, fine-tuning processes, and optimizing their models in real time. This combination of training and practical consulting ensured that the transition was not only smooth but also empowering, enabling the design team to fully integrate their new skills into daily operations.
The results of this collaborative effort were transformative. With Revit and BIM now at the core of their processes, AUDO significantly improved project coordination and communication. The design team benefited from enhanced accuracy, fewer revisions, and smoother handoffs between project phases. All of the new and demanding projects, completed efficiently and without delays, showcased the power of their new workflows and demonstrated their ability to handle complex projects with confidence.
This evolution has positioned AUDO for a bright future. With streamlined processes, enhanced collaboration, and newfound expertise, the firm is well-equipped to pursue larger and more ambitious projects. Their commitment to adopting cutting-edge tools and methodologies has not only elevated their capabilities but also reinforced their reputation as a forward-thinking architectural practice.
Reflecting on the transition, Costis Skroubelos, co-leader of AUDO, noted, “This collaboration has given us the tools and the mindset to approach our projects with a new level of practicality and sophistication. With Revit and BIM integrated into our daily workflows, we are not only more efficient but also better equipped to tackle ambitious, large-scale projects in the future. Our commitment to these technologies reflects AUDO’s dedication to staying at the forefront of the industry.”
Phivos Skroubelos added, “Our transition to Revit and BIM has been a pivotal step forward for AUDO. Working with Loulakis & Associates was invaluable; they guided us through the complexities of this new approach, helping our team move from foundational skills to confidently applying BIM across our most intricate projects. The results speak for themselves: we’ve seen tangible improvements in coordination, project accuracy, and the ability to deliver on time. More than a software change, this evolution has been a transformation in how we work and what we can achieve.”
AUDO’s successful transition to Revit and BIM marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. With the right tools, skills, and mindset in place, the firm is now poised to explore even greater opportunities and tackle upcoming challenges head-on. The collaboration with Loulakis & Associates has equipped them with the confidence and expertise needed to thrive in an industry that demands both innovation and precision.
Looking ahead, AUDO is excited to leverage their new capabilities to undertake larger and more complex projects, solidifying their position as leaders in architectural design. Their commitment to continuous improvement and adaptation not only enhances their operational efficiency but also fosters a culture of creativity and innovation within the firm. As they embrace the evolving landscape of architecture and design, AUDO is well-prepared to meet the diverse needs of their clients and make a lasting impact in the industry.

EES Loulakis helps IKEA to increase their Store design effectiveness by 25%
IKEA offers a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them. In most of the countries IKEA deploys large and medium scale stores. In these stores the design has to apply the Democratic Design principles, meaning that all products should be presented well according to local habits or trends. To achieve this, IKEA is using a large team of in-house designers to create and maintain the show rooms / Exhibition - produce area of each store. The designers used to work on Autodesk AutoCAD, Sketch Up and Excel and create 2D, 3D drawings and schedules. This led to a time-consuming design process, including a lot of rework to convert 2D drawings to 3D models, and a great effort for element quantification and item scheduling. Leveraging the BIM capabilities and switching to a BIM friendly software seemed to be the best opportunity for improvement.
Enhancing Construction Efficiency with Autodesk Revit
Ballian Techniki is active in the field of construction for private-sector clients. It was founded by Pavlos Ballian in 1970, and provided design, construction, and technical consulting services. Since the year 2000, with the partnership of Thanos Ballian and Loukianos Tiktopoulos, the company has secured its development path, succeeding in becoming one of the most reliable construction companies in the country. The company is based on a dynamic team, which provides high-level services to its clients, in sectors such as industry, trade, tourism, the construction of offices, houses, special projects, etc. Outside of Greece, the company operates in France, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Romania, and has the appropriate infrastructure to undertake projects anywhere abroad.A major challenge in each construction company is Cost Estimation and Budgeting. Accurately estimating project costs and effectively managing budgets is critical for profitability. During the initial stages of a construction project, there may be limited information available regarding project requirements, site conditions, and design details. This makes it challenging to accurately estimate costs and develop a comprehensive budget. Incorrect assumptions or incomplete understanding of project requirements, building codes, or local regulations can lead to inaccurate cost estimates. This can result in budget overruns and financial challenges during the project execution phase. Reliance on outdated or inefficient cost estimation methods, such as manual spreadsheets or historical data, may also result in inaccuracies and inconsistencies in cost projections.
