Customer challenge

VYOM (India) had the following challenges: 1) Looking for a solution which helps the Design Team to increase efficiency in design, coordination with other consultants, and provides data reports to help eliminate clashes in the initial phase of project. 2) To visualize and communicate the design intent in a more realistic environment. 3) To streamline this design and collaboration process, implement a digital platform which will increase the operational efficiency.

Project goals

The following priority project goals were identified: 1) Find a solution that could eliminate the time-consuming manual process, while still being simple to use for all designers working in the project. 2) Enable model syncing to the cloud and the use of a CDE (Common Data Environment). 3) Integrate ASMEPF disciplines and other High Precision Systems to automate and report the clashes between multi-disciplinary design drawings and help address the coordination issues earlier in the lifecycle of the project. 4) Enable Quantity Takeoff from the 3D Model.

Solution

Using the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Industry Collection, Neilsoft helped VYOM start conceptual design and digital modeling in 3D for Architecture and Structure, and quantity takeoff from Autodesk Revit. Using Autodesk Navisworks, VYOM started coordinating different disciplines together and resolved clashes. Autodesk BIM 360 Design was utilized to aggregate project data across the entire lifecycle to give a clear picture into project performance, allowing quicker and more informed business decisions, and help predict issues before they become costly hold ups.
