"License Error - ADLSDK_STATUS_AUTH_PENDING 10019: Failure due to misconfiguration" when launching an Autodesk 2020 or newer product

Issue:

When launching an Autodesk 2020 or newer product the following message is shown:
 

License Error

The license manager is not functioning or improperly installed. AutoCAD will shut down now.

ADLSDK_STATUS_AUTH_PENDING

10019:failure due to misconfiguration.

License Error The License Manager is not functioning or is improperly installed. AutoCAD LT will shut down now. ADLSDK_STATUS_AUTH_PENDING 10019:failure due to misconfiguration

Causes:

  • Software license entitlement is not assigned to the Autodesk account that is logged into the product.
  • The wrong Autodesk account is signed into the product. 
  • Security blockage from anti-virus or firewall settings.

Solution:

To correct this behavior, follow the steps below:
  1. Verify that the Autodesk account has been assigned access to the product.
  2. Sign out of the product and delete the LoginState.xml file from the appropriate location below: 
  • On Windows:
    • %localappdata%\Autodesk\Web Services\LoginState.xml (Tip: From the Task Manager, select the Details tab. If the AdSSO service is running, click End Task and delete the LoginState.xml file.)
  • On macOS:
    • ~/Library/Application\ Support/Autodesk/Web\ Services/LoginState.xml
  • On Linux:
    • ~/.local/share/Autodesk/Web Services/LoginState.xml
  1. Relaunch the product and sign back in using the Autodesk account that is verified to have access.
Note.
The issue can also be cause by some Antivirus.
Consider temporarily disabling the Antivirus when doing the log in.
